Microsoft's Halo 7 rumored to be released in 2026

When the beta version of Halo Infinite came out in early 2021, fans of the franchise had their appetites satiated, even with the title's multitude of issues.

While the developers were stingy with new maps, made odd choices in the active multiplayer playlists, Infinite served its purpose. The campaign was a rock solid adventure, but after nearly five years, it's left fans asking, what's next?

Details are sparse, but rumblings are starting to be heard about a new Halo 7 release.

Phil Spencer and Microsoft have hardly showed an unwavering commitment to the franchise as the last release was as clunky as can be.

Fans of Master Chief need an epic game to put Halo back on the map and into Game of the Year discussions.

If history teaches us anything, it's that Halo's release schedule is anything but predictable.

One can only hope that a new year will bring a tangible update in the form of the new installment at least being in development.

As the holiday season draws near, there will perhaps be a few teasers and breadcrumbs to excite and hype up Halo fans in all corners of the globe.
