Hold on to your lug nuts, it's time for an overhaul!
These are the top weapons that you don't want to mess with!
Or do you?
10. Buster Sword (Final Fantasy VII)
It's common knowledge that turn-based RPGs rarely rely on map- clearing weapons. But the buster sword is the diamond in the rough. Making its debut late in the Final Fantasy franchise's timeline, this mammoth blade of steel can hold its own in any massive battle.
9. Gravity Gun (Half Life 2)
As epic and futuristic as guns get, this ultimate supercharged weapon of mass destruction is not to be toyed with. In fact, it might be deserving of an even higher ranking had it been more accessible and pervasive throughout the game.
8. FarSight XR-20 (Perfect Dark)
Looks can be deceiving, and this little guy is as deadly as any weapon in the arsenal. While Perfect Dark was overshadowed by GoldenEye during the N64 era, the FarSight was the lesser known counterpart to the Golden Gun, but equally formidable.
7. Super Shotgun (Doom 2)
Wiping out enemies with this bad boy was endless fun. Neither weak minions nor powerful bosses stand a chance. Its high rate of fire and even higher rate of damage make this the machine gun of Doom.
6. Ray Gun (Call of Duty Black Ops II)
Don't let its cartoon-like appearance fool you. The Ray Gun is capable of eviscerating zombies with machine-like efficiency. When opening a mystery box, drawing one of these suckers is like winning the lottery in Call of Duty terms. It's truly the only weapon that zombies may turn around and run from.
5. The Lancer (Gears of War)
If there was ever a gun that looked like it could shred you to pieces, the lancer fits that bill. With futuristic armored suits and a bevy of weapon choices throughout GOW, this brutal weapon choice can single-handedly destroy virtually any opponent in its path.
4. Blue Shell (Mario Kart)
That dreaded alarm bell sound that signaled a blue shell was in close proximity still haunts my dreams. Capable of pushing players from first to worst, the blue shell is among the most dreaded equalizers in racing history.
3. Blade of Chaos (God of War)
Kratos had Herculean strength and did not need to use heavy artillery to destroy opponents. But he couldn't resist this epic choice of weaponry. The Blade of Chaos is truly a crowning achievement of ancient civilization; easily destroying demigods and Gods alike.
2. The Golden Gun (Golden Eye)
Even Oddjob couldn't avoid the single-shot devastation that is the Golden Gun- PP7. The most famous multiplayer first person shooter of its generation and any generation, Golden Eye showcases this insanely powerful weapon in a small package. As compact and beautiful as it is deadly, the Golden Gun was death at first shot.
1. The Energy Sword (Halo)
Perhaps the most feared and lauded weapon in video game history, Halo's energy sword is a magnificent beacon of annihilation. Before opponents realize they are within striking range, the respawn countdown clock has already begun. Kneel before the energy sword, because there is no defense.
