Rick's Review:
2025 might be an inflection point for the Madden franchise. The storied football game was sliding into a deep abyss for the better part of the last decade.
With fans both young and old discontented with the direction with each passing installment, the developers finally bucked the trend of the annual August disappointment.
From improved visuals and player animations to gameplay mechanics, Madden 26 takes a major step in getting back into the good graces of sports gamers.
The AI and logic improvements are significant. The franchise that got its name as the premier football simulation on the market, is finally getting back to its roots.
The coach mode also activates another deeper level of strategy.
While clunky animations and unrealistic catch radiuses are still prevalent in the game, this year's installment makes those head scratching and hair pulling moments few and far between.
True football purists can enjoy this game in all its glory. While there is room for growth, it seems that that light at the end of the tunnel is not a train after all.
Final Verdict:
