10. Grand Theft Auto
How can you write a top 10 list without the original that started it all? Yes, the graphics were rudimentary, but the foundation was set for spectacularly successful franchise.
9. Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and the Damned
A bit of a forgotten entry, but loads of fun nonetheless. A classic setting, with some classic characters that is worth a play through for even GTA casuals.
8. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
The side story to the gritty original, Liberty City stories seems to offer something for everyone. A fun addition to any gamers collection.
7. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
No one ever said too much. Miami vice is a bad thing! More fun on South Beach with enjoyable missions and side quests.
6. Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony
I'm pretty sure the title says it all. This is as wacky and zany as games come. Filled with hilarity and racy humor, this installment is definitely one of the more underrated.
5. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
While customization and vehicle choices are far and wide, the main character is lacking some of the charisma and fun factor of earlier and later installments. Often listed as one of the best GTA's this game cracks the top five for its depth of gameplay and side missions.
4. Grand Theft Auto 3
If you played this game when it was first released, you know exactly where you were. With eye-popping graphics and never before seen realism, carjacking and other debauchery made it seem like a kids playground. A true masterpiece that set the tone and raised the bar for games within this genre.
3. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Is there a more appropriate setting for some of the nonsense that went on with Tony and his cronies than Miami? Between sunset cruises fighting off gang members and gentlemen's club visits, this game had everything.
2. Grand Theft Auto 4
This game was about a hundred wrapped into one. With virtually endless opportunities for online play, side quests or just flat out cause and destruction, the graphical improvements and the seemingly limitless opportunities to cause havoc put this at number two.
1. Grand Theft Auto 5
This is the gold standard that has amazed generations both young and old. As we Dawn on the release of GTA VI, GTA 5's replay value is still at an all-time high. An absolute master class by Rockstar.
