 5. Crazy Taxi

A cleaned-up version of the Grand Theft Auto franchise crazy taxi was both a smash hit on Sega Dreamcast and in arcades throughout the country. With vibrant graphics, and zany gameplay, this early installment in the consoles short-lived life, is still considered a classic.

4. Sonic Adventure

Bringing the iconic hedgehog to 3D was a brilliant move. While matching the magic and allure of the first three Sonic games along with Sonic and Knuckles was nearly impossible, Sonic Adventure brought with its stunning visuals and depth of characters and gameplay that was never before seen.

3. Resident Evil Code Veronica

As chilling and horrifying as games were of that era, Code Veronica was the precursor to the Golden era of Resident Evil Games. A compelling storyline and upgraded graphics were a delight for gamers.

2. NBA2K1

I'm still considered one of the top games in the 25-year-old 2K franchise, the gameplay and real life basketball simulation left sports fans with their draws on the ground. Allen Iverson on the cover was the original AI and it's hard to argue any future games rivaled this one.

1. NFL2K1

While Madden has dominated the the football video game landscape, NFL 2K1 is often cited as not only the best football game of its time, but possibly all time. Between realistic gameplay, great commentary, and well-timed cutscenes, this jump started 2K to at least challenge Madden for football supremacy.
